Job Title:        Program Manager

Location:        Hargeisa, Somaliland

                                               VACANCY: PROGRAM MANAGER

Background:

Network against FGM/C in Somaliland (NAFIS), is anti-FGM/C network in Somaliland; with 20 member organizations its main purpose is to combat all forms of FGM/C in Somaliland through coordination and networking, lobbying and advocacy, research and documentation, capacity building, women empowerment and survival support. NAFIS would like to recruit a dynamic, energetic and qualified person as program manager, to ensure effective and efficient management and implementation of the Network’s interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program planning, implementation and monitoring

Take responsibility for planning and implementation of program in an inventive approach

Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all activities of the Network.

Supervise and review monthly, quarterly and annual reports complied by program team  Compile, maintain and report on the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics.

Analyze trends in the program, identifying issues and developing recommending solutions to the executive director

Remain up-to-date on all modifications to the National Standards implementing the same in a timely and organized manner

Carry out any other relevant duties requested by the executive director.

Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all activities in accordance with Donors, Stakeholders, and Network policies.

Responsible for the expansion of the programs forming partnerships where appropriate  Compile, analyze and report on trends in the programs Qualifications/competencies and experience

Education:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or related field with at least 4 years of relevant work experience;

A first level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in the areas of Social Science or related field, in organizational development or civil society organization in a multi-cultural setting may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree with 3 years of experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position including organizational capacity building skills;

Extensive experience in project cycle  management is a requirement;

Experience and knowledge with Gender Basic violence (GBV) is desirable;

Understanding of the dynamics of female genital mutilation perspectives in Somaliland is desirable;

Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills ;

Effective oral and written communication skills is required

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English and Somali.
